We had an outstanding evening with excellent food and excellent service. We went on a Thursday so place was quiet (we heard weekends are very busy). We were greeted with a friendly welcome and a very accessible menu. We had crab cakes - they're small but they're perfect. Fried crunchy and placed artfully on top of a tomato relish that was amazing with an avocado mousse that was a creamy rich compliment. My husband had a huge steak - he's carb free so appreciated the option- and I had perfectly prepared lamb chops. It was a lot of lamb but I ate every bite.
Desserts looked good - we split a delicious, dense NY Cheesecake made right with a really terrific berry compote that wasn't overly sweet. And the wine the waiter recommended (a red by the glass) was a savvy choice.
Service was friendly, attentive, totally unhurried...never a dirty dish lingering and each course presented with plenty of down time to enjoy the last.
And every dish was beautiful. We eat with our eyes first right? The chef owner clearly understands this and each dish was presented in a lovely but again unfussy way. The crab cakes and cheese cake were like modern art.
Overall fantastic experience. We will be back for many a fine dining and celebration dinner. And we can bring our vegan kid because they have a real option. Always appreciate that. -

Food was decent, and the small portions make you order multiple appetizers. We brought our own bottle of wine but had to keep serving ourselves, with only 4 tables full of people.
Parking is tight, they have 4 spaces available, otherwise you have to walk about 2 blocks, or Lyft it better! The ambiance is really nice, but the other tables were visited by the and he didn't even acknowledge us. The staff seemed more engaged with the bigger groups and not so much the couples.
The lobster linguine had great pieces of lobster, but the pasta was too al dente for my liking, and too much sauce. The linguine was drowning in sauce which takes away the flavor of the lobster.
One star for the tiramisu, one for decor, and one for the sauce on the mussels. -

Overall, the food is soso. I won't say it's good, but it's not that bad.
Good:
Easy to get seated. No line.
The escargot is good.
Bad:
Not too easy to find parking.
The New York steak is not tender at all. Especially I ordered medium rare but turns out is like well done. As you can see in the picture is very dark -

This was probably the best Tomahawk steak I've ever had and I've had a few. Our party of 9 ordered almost everything on the menu and we enjoyed every single dish but I think this steak was by far the table favorite.
We are ordered every dessert, all of which are homemade creations by JC and staff. The tables favorite was the tiramisu and the opera cake came in a close second.
The service was amazing. Marcela and her team attended to our every need. Water always topped and service with a smile.
The only issue was parking. There was an event next store so the parking situation was a bit tough. Word to the wise, find street parking from the start.
We loved our JC Club experience and have plans to be back once more before we return to the east coast. -

This was my second visit to JC Bruno. I treated my parents here for an early Mothers Day dinner on a Thursday, because I knew we'd be able to get in before the Mother's Day crowd.
We started with the tuna tartare and the escargot. I had been thinking about the escargot since my last visit and was just as happy to eat it this time as I was the first. I would definitely recommend getting a second basket of bread for all of the buttery goodness. The tuna tartare was also great. The taro chips they pair with the dish is makes for a perfect bite.
My parents both got the same meals as our first visit. Lobster Linguini and the Boubilase. Just like the previous visit, they wouldn't share more than a bite or two. And I definitely understand. The last time we were there, the table of 5 next to us each got the lobster linguini.
This time, I got the Braised Beef dish, which was hearty and rich just as I would have expected. It also came with quinoa, seasoned so well that it had me wanting to eat it almost as much as the braised beef! We brought a bottle of wine for the table from home and ended the night with their light, fluffy tiramisu. Just enough to fill our dessert bellies. On our way out, we ran into a family friend who has eaten here 8 times.
Can't wait for our next reason to "celebrate"
